10th July 2014 // New Works & Bartlett Architecture Degree Show

So its been a while since I posted on here and here come two posts at once! Firstly i am well on my way with several new canvas and paper based works exploring and experimenting a heavier and more expressive style particularly on paper, which has driven me slightly crazy as it has taken a lot of trial and error! Keep an eye out in the coming days for new updates on that part.

In the meanwhile, I recently attended the UCL Bartlett school of Architecture degree show which as always is well worth a visit! The architecture was typically conceptual and abstract with sustainability and organic forms at the forefront of most units. However, it is stunning graphics and presentations that always grab me, in particular unit 12, which had some awe-inspiring hand drawings on show. The level of detail and finesse was truly astounding from the large complex sections and abstract compositions right down to small detailed aspects of a proposal. It is this level of artistry and combination with architecture that inspires me to develop a stylistic approach within my own methodology
